Masterworks & Pops Series

As a part of its musical repertoire, the Las Vegas Philharmonic presents a series of five Masterworks performances and three Pops performances during the concert season featuring works by the greatest classical and pop composers of all time. The Las Vegas Philharmonic offers annual sponsorships and naming rights for each series. Each concert is planned by the artistic director, David Itkin, and features over 75 professional musicians and up to four selections, including a guest artist(s). The Masterworks concert set includes six services, five rehearsals and one concert, held over a week long timeframe. The Pops concert set includes three services, two rehearsals and one concert, held over a three day timeframe. For both the Masterworks and Pops series, each service is 2.5 hours in length. Concerts are held on Saturday nights, commencing at 8:00 pm.

Subscription sales and single ticket sales only cover approximately 45% of the total expense for each concert. The Masterworks and Pops concerts' average expenses per concert are $100,000 and with minimal advertising and promotions. As a result, contributions are critical to meeting the musician, guest artist and facility expenses per concert.

Youth Concert Series

In January, the Las Vegas Philharmonic offers a free Youth Concert Series to 4th graders in Clark County School District. The Philharmonic puts on six mini performances over a three-day span, developed by Maestro David Itkin in cooperation with Clark County School Districts. Also, the performances showcase the four winners of the Philharmonic's Young Artists' Concerto Competition. The series is an excellent opportunity to expose children to live symphonic music and inspire them to learn a musical instrument as a part of their education. Since the children attend these performances for free, the Philharmonic depends on its donors to sustain this program for the community.
